I keep getting an alarm on a DTM at a customers site. It reads "Short Term Alarm Threshold has been exceeded on the DTM: The module is in a no new call state". It is not affecting calls but the person at the site that monitors the system wants to know what is going on. It keeps happening every 2-3 minutes. By the way its a BCM 400 Release 4.0 and 80 digital sets and a PRI on the DTM.

Theres something wrong with the T1, probally a Telcon problem, put they will say it's your problem. There are counters that are going over there alowable count. you can do a reset of the counter though Config.

This is an Analogy so don't take it personally as some have.

Why change the engine if all you need is to change the spark plugs.

Well they are always going to blame the vendor. I figured it was telco but because it was happening so often didn't know if it could've been a module or maybe a patch

In my 27+ years, I can say maybe twice it was my switchs problem.

Yea but they can always find ways to keep you aggravated for days at a time.

Now that's the Truth.

If it's every 2-3 mins. you can, after hours, throw a loop back plug and show them you don't get the alarm. Then reinsert T1 cable and watch alarm come back. Maybe disconnecting the T1 cable will reset the CO, maybe.
