DTC Label value won't pass

Hello,

Just wandering if anyone knows why this doesn't work?

fieldlabel.setCaption(fieldonform1)

when i submit I
thisForm.action = "Second.asp"
thisForm.submit

Second.asp
field = Request.Form(fieldlabel) - fieldlabel is not passed and field = ""

does anyone know why I can't use a label to pass info. I can use a DTC textbox and it works fine, but textboxes do not meet my needs for that asp page.

Addition to my problem:

If I hide my textbox then I can not pass the value of it to me Second.asp. Is there a way to work around this?
