DTC grid control & speed

Hello. I've been working in InterDev for several years now and often use the DTC grid control. Recently however, I have a customer who has lots and lots of records that need to appear in this grid (approx 3,000). The problem is that it takes so much time for this page to load. I wanted to know:

Does anyone have any tips on how I could speed up the performance of this grid control so that the page opens more quickly?
