We're attempting to enable the backup ip feature for all 500 of our DT700 phones. This is buried in the network settings of the phone. The way I see it, there are three ways to do this:
1) Manually set it on every phone. No thanks!
2) Set up the dhcp scopes of every phone to push out an ftp server as well as the name of the terminal config file to use at boot up. This actually works, however now all phones are dependent on this one server's FTP to be up and running. This shouldn't be a problem, but I don't like it. If ftp is not running for whatever reason, the phones will not boot up.
3) Push out the config file to multiple phones via ip phone manager. We do this currently with music on hold, however I'm struggling to push out a terminal config file.
Anyone else doing option #3? FYI our PBX's are all SV8300's. Thanks in advance.
