Hi All,

I'm getting a constant alarm (DSU msg link).
What could be the cause of this alarm, and how can I clear it or fix the issue.

Youo must have a T-1 programmed without connection to a T-1 remove it.

NO GOOD DEED GOES UNPUNISHED!

Could also be a bad DS1 card/NSU, or FIM link to an NSU or DSU cabinet down. Basically the controller can't see a DSU or NSU it's expecting to find, so either something's in programming that doesn't actually exist, or something's broken.

I have check the programming, nothing is there for NSU or DSU.
I have 3 E1s which are working perfectly fine and all of them are connected.

Anything else that I have to suspect.

How are the E1's connected? to the system?

If you mean the physical connection, all are connected with physical interface RJ45 straight cable.

Also the same alarm is there on the slave system, but the slave system is connected to the primary with resilient link.

Have you tried clearing the dtstats for the circuits,if you only have 3 and they're all working fine, it sounds like they may have crashed and recovered. "dt cl <pild>" for each circuit.

DSU message link is normally a fault indicating the controller cannot see a T1/E1 interface. Either there's one down, or there's one in programming that doesn't physically exist.

What I meant by how are they connected was what type of interface? You said there's no DSU or NSU, so I would assume you're using embedded T1/E1 cards on a 3300ICP, is this correct? If so, you have 3 circuits and are probably using dual-port cards. I'd be willing to bet the unused interface is set up in programming, which is what's causing the alarm. Do a "sho fault dsu msg link" to see what PLID is generating the alarm and go from there.
