Using the manage Date and Time feature (Option 2) in Merlin Messaging, I was able to change the time after the recent Daylight Saving Time change. However, I noticed that it does not seem to take effect on the phones, at least not right away.

Is this simply a matter of... time or do I need to do something else?

I think Merlin Messaging would handle DST automatically but the DST dates changed several years ago and from what I hear (at our workplace) it now needs to be adjusted manually. Correct or not, I do not know.

When you change the merlin messaging your only changing the VM time. you would need to get into the system programming to change the time on the display phones.

Kevin,

When you say "System Programming" do you mean using the WinSPM (???) program?

Or is there a way I can do this at a telephone?

Merlinman,

I'm not sure.

I've just started working with this and am not sure which component is which. For example, I see "Merlin Messaging", "Merlin Legend", "Merlin Magix".

In my pieced-together documentation, I see that Merlin Legend is at "Release 7".

I don't know where to look for the other levels.

Press Menu.
Press System Program.
Press Exit or Start.
Press System.
Press Time.

Backspace to erase the old time
Enter the new time in military/24 hour format: HH:MM (where HH is the hour, 01-24, and MM is minutes, 00-60).
Press Enter.
Press Exit or Back.
Press Home or Exit to exit programming mode.

If this is a MAGIX, you can change the ADST Setting to make the change for you. If it's adjustable, you will see that option as you get to the "TIME" setting.

The menu will prompt for System Time or ADST.

If it can be changed, then the System will change itself and Messaging at the appropriate times.

TouchToneTommy,

Thank you for the clear and concise instructions.

Now, judging from the terms "System Wide", I imagine that this is a global setting that I am changing - not just the time on a particular phone, correct?

(I like to know what I am doing before I do it - that can help to avoid big problems.)

Yes, this is the system wide time on the MLX phones, and you do it from the 20L programming telephone, usually your System Operator's extension.
