DSS Connection differences between 4.0 and 4.1 ph2

Hi everyone

I have had a recurrent problem when upgraded DSS, here is the problem.

I installed DSS 4.10.048 ( agent winNT and console win 98 ) and I can't establish a connection when passing through different VLANs, Dspro program is active at console but no Sniffer screen is displayed; then uninstalled console and agent and installed release 4.00.08, connection is established Ok !! is there any difference between connection handle from 4.00.08 and 4.10.048 ? I have experienced this problem with some clients who upgraded their DSS boxes from 4.0 to 4.1 phase 2.

Patch srmon.dll for phase 2 was installed.

Any comment could help ! I'm desperate.

Hi Alex,

What else do you have installed on the win98 box that uses the network stack? I have seen some issues with some personal firewalls and vpn clients that can exhibit similar behaviour. I have confirmed this by running McAfee Personal Firewall on my console box - with the PFW enabled I can get no connection, with it disabled everything works fine
