Hi guys,

Please help, I am always getting an DSP Alarm on my 3300 ICP version 7.1 and it say 33% unavailable.

Please advice

Thanks

Sounds like your DSP is not good.

1) Try rebooting
2) Upgrading the software
3) Replacing the DSP.

I made several reboot, however it disappear for couple of hours then comes back saying 33% unavailable. So I will try to take my DSP card out & put it back again.

Is it possible to upgrade DSP card with more memory on it?

There are dual and quad DSPs. You most likely have a dual as that is what comes default on most system styles. What type of chasis/model do you have? MX, CX, CXi, LX, MXe, AX??

There was a fault with some DSP's that became evident after an upgrade to rel 7.x whereby one or more resources on the card would fail to load.

The one and only time I had this, DSP replacement was required.

There is an older post on this subject but I can't find it.

You most likely have the Dual. 95% of the time you will have to replace the DSP card.

paterson, i don't agree, the dual dsp is only used on cx/i's

the others all have quad's

there is a command you can use, show status Dsp, to show whic card the fault is on. It should tell you which slot the card is in. If you look in the tech handbook on around page 36 it's show a layout of the card's so you know which one you can re-seat, replace if necessary. But in an MX it will be a Quad

Good catch Mitelmatt. Page 305 of the hand book clearly states that the 3300ICP MX controller ships with one Quad DSP Module. I just installed a 200ICP MX and it had a Dual. My mistake.
