Can somebody just confirm my thinking, as I'm finding the Cisco official documentation very confusing.

I've got a 2821 router, running 12.4(10) IOS. A PVDM2-64 has 4 DSP chips, and if used for conferencing (G711 and G729 streams), then each DSP chip can support 2 conferences of up to 8 parties. Therefore with a single PVDM2-64 I can handle up to 8 audio conferences, with up to 64 parties.

If this is all correct, when I use the DSP Calculator on the Cisco site, why does it tell me that I need 3 x PVDM2-64s to support up to 16 conferences.

I'd have thought 8 DSPs at 2 conferences per DSP would mean a maximum of 2 x PVDM2-64 chips.

Thanks
