Hello,
I have upgraded a few 3300's controller (100/700 users) from v5.2.5.4 to v7.1 or v8.0 and in many cases after the upgrade a get a minor alarm from "dsp card status - 5in system/ 4 available". I should mention that before the upgrade all was fine and I didn't get this alarm. I also should mention that I've done a lots of upgrades that worked just fine. I didn't find on MOL any documentation regarding this kind of alarm, so if you are so kind to help I would appreciate. For any further details please dont hesitate. Thank you.

I saw a similar issue when one of my DSP ports on my Quad DSP failed. 4 on system/ 3 unavailable.

I would suggest replacing your Quad DSP.

I would note that I had this issue after an upgrade as well.

Never before or since so I wrote it off as a coincedence.

Thinking differently now.

This has been seen in the field and a reboot typically fixes the problem.

Thank you all for your answers.
@TheMitelGuy: i've tried rhe reboot, i've even reinstalled the software again; same result. Any more sugestions, please? Is something about the hardware?

I have upgraded 5 3300cxi with exactly the same issue. Wonder what Mitel would have to say about it?

If you have the means to take the issue to Mitel I recommend you do so.

Resets etc did not help me, DSP replacement did.

I talked to a Mitel help desk and what he told me is that after the upgrade I need another DSP module on my controller. I will do that and I will come back here and tell the results.

It sounds like the newer software is checking the config and the amount of DSPs. If it believes there is not enough resources, then it complains. In your case it sounds like you have 4 in the system, but the software believes you should have 5 for the config in the system.

Hey Webmnay I've looked and can't find any new features that are automatically enabled through upgrade that might require additional DSP resources. Are there any that you are aware of?

So,I'm back with an official answer from Mitel. Here it is shortly: on my systems I had version 5.2 and 8 compression licenses and no alarm. From version 7.1 I get the dsp alarm. The explanation from Mitel is that the alarm was there even with the 5.2, but as release 7.0 the alarm logs have been improved so that's why there is this alarm. In other words it was my fault that I didn't calcutate the dsp requirements when I purchased the compression licenses.
In the end of this thread I would like to thank you all for your advices. They were welcomed.
