Hi am quite new to this world and got stuck with the DSP card.
if i install a DSP4 card to NCP1000 then how many ip phones will connect
i am confused with the theory behind that. I hope somebody can help me.

The amount of ip phones on each dsp card does not change
The dsp 4 and 16 come with 8 licences and the dsp 64 comes with 16 pre installed
but you can add more to the system no matter what card is installed.
The difference is the amount of channels between the system and the dsp
If you use compression on any of the cards you will only have the amount of channels as the number of the dsp ie dsp 4 will have 4 channels
If you don't use compression you will have 16 on the dsp 4 and 64 on the dsp 64
Compression is using the codex 729 instead of the 711

So the answer is the card will depend on how many simultaneous calls you will be making using ip phones to trunks or digital phones. Ip phones calling between each other once the call is established will work peer to peer and will not use the dsp resources
