I'm configuring two 3300 Mxe's at present (they will be a resilent pair when finished)In slot one of the 3300 that will be the primary is a T1/E1 combo card and in slot one of the 3300 that will be the secondary is a T1/E1 dual framer, they are identical apart from this.
The 3300 with the combo card is looking ok, however the 3300 with the dual framer is showing a DSP status alarm - alarm level minor 33% unavailable.
When i do a show status dsp on the primary (with the combo card)i get the following output....

Slot Number 1 Dsp 0 State: ACTIVE

Slot Number 7 Dsp 0 State: ACTIVE
Slot Number 7 Dsp 1 State: ACTIVE
Slot Number 7 Dsp 2 State: ACTIVE
Slot Number 7 Dsp 3 State: ACTIVE

When i do a show status dsp on the secondary (with the dual framer)i get the following output...

Slot Number 7 Dsp 0 State: ACTIVE
Slot Number 7 Dsp 1 State: ACTIVE
Slot Number 7 Dsp 2 State: ACTIVE
Slot Number 7 Dsp 3 State: ACTIVE

As you can see the slot 1 Dsp is missing, do you think there is a problem with the dual framer card it appears ok in all other respects, but i'm unable to test it yet as the ISDN line is not inplace.
Any ideas?

I think people often mistakenly make the assumption that the combo refers to the fact that it can do T1 or E1. The T1/E1 Combo card is called a combo card because it's a combination of T1/E1 interface, a DSP chip and a VEC chip. The dual framer doesn't have a DSP chip on it (or VEC), that's why it doesn't show up in the status command.

The alarm is most likely because you have some compression licenses programed on the secondary, but not enough DSPs to support it.

Thanks IrwinMFletcher for the prompt reply, i thought both cards had a DSP chip, the fact the dual framer dosen't explains everything as we are using compression, so the secondary is going to need an additional DSP card.
