I have seen this answered before, but cannot locate the post.
We have a web site ie.. How do we configure IIS so that we can use this URL to view the site from within the network? Right now we can only access it by putting in the ip address of the server. 192.168.2.101
Thanks
Paul

Add the alias of the local Zone on your DNS server and point it to the server IP

I guess you need to back up a second, and first ask if paulray is even running their own DNS server. If not, then you'll need to edit the hosts file on every computer inside your network that will access and add the local IP address (192.168.2.101) and hostname ( to it.

A good point well put serbastic.

I was assuming paulray is running AD on the network.
