I need to do something similar to a setLogonInfo command, but I cant use a System DSN (I need to use a connection string).

Is there a function that can do this.

Note: I dont need to change the source of the report or anything like that, I just need to send it the login information for the database that the report runs off.

TIA,
Putts

I found this post here:

<%reportname = "report.rpt"%>
<!-- #include file="AlwaysRequiredSteps.asp" -->
<% clientDoc.databaseController.logon "username","password" %>
<!-- #include file="CrystalReportsInteractiveViewer.asp" -->

Where AlwaysRequiredSteps.asp and CrystalReportsInteractiveViewer.asp come from:
-k

Thanks for the info, synapse.

Dont think it will work though.

I've d/led the code, and looked it over.

It doesn't seem to have any place where you can set things in the report like parameters, sorts and etc.

Also, when I tried to run the code, my Machine tells me it cant create one of the objects ('CrystalReports.ObjectFactory.2')

I just dont believe there's not a way to just send in the login information without also sending in all the database information with it and just have the report use its current settings.
