I have also posted this in the XP-Pro forum:

I am sharing a DSL connection at home between 2 machines. One W2K and the machine that has the USB Zyxel modem(XP-Pro). I have gone through the Connection sharing wizard and it works fine. I have though one problem. On the slave machine it doesn't want to access certain pages like Apple etc. I am not using any other software other than the operating systems that might block pages for the slave machine. It just keeps on looking for the page, says connecting and eventually times out. Anyone a idea where I might look?

Connection Setup: Cat5 crossover cable between the two machines with the USB modem connected to the XP machine..

You don't need eyes to see just a vision.

Hmm? are the drives shared ( I imagine so ). Otherwise simply buy a cheap Linksys 4 port router for the Wan connection = and then connect the pc'c.

routers are cheap about the price of a case of beer.

Check your security settings in Tools, Internet Options, Security. Also check your Connections tab, Lan settings. Disable the 'Automatic settings' check, and remove any proxy settings.

Be a little careful if autocompletion is on. Many sites will have DNS entries for all the possibilities of the site names, but not all do. So, would work but typing apple.com (I did not test this with the Apple site) will not work, and if you are using autocompletion entries for failed site names you will tend to repeat the error due to autocompletion.

Also if you have a firewall the security zone settings may well be preventing you from accessing sites. Check all firewall settings.
