Hi

Not sure if this is the right forum but...

Does anyone know if its possible to add a second DSL router to my existing DSL router using wifi?

I ask because my DSL wifi router is upstairs and my new XBox 360 is downstairs. I have an extra DSL wifi router (netopia) that i would like to connect to the xbox (with cable) that will connect wirelessly to the main DSL router upstairs so i can go online with the xbox.

I know I could just buy the Xbox wifi card but would like to get this to work.

Thanks All

Thanks

That link has some good info.

You said "Very few Wireless Routers are also Wireless bridges, Netopia is not one of them. " - it does have a bridging mode though - i,ve been varying the settings but still cant get it to work. I cant find any where to tell the router how to authenticate to the other router and if i configure it with same SSID, encryption key and on same subnet it doesnt seem to work either.

cheers

Yes, it does, but not a wireless bridging mode.

The Bridging mode for the netopia is to use it JUST as a modem, not as a modem/router. If you needed it to be a modem so you could use some other router, the bridging mode would help.

I tried to remain child-like, all I acheived was childish.
