DSL router STRAIGHT to DSL router?

I have on my hands a couple of Cisco Adsl routers (678's).

Setup:
At work, there is a Wireless DSL at 512K that runs fine.
At home, there is a dialup which is SLOW.

Solution:
Connect 1 Cisco 678 router to home network,
connect 1 Cisco 678 router to Work network,
and make them somehow talk togther...

Problem: Exactly how do get the two routers to talk together without subscribing to a DSL service? To test them, I have both powered up, and a phone line directly from 'wall' to 'wall' ports on the routers.

Anyone have suggustions?

I never found a DSLAM under $1000 so it is going to be expensive.

This is what I recieved from my Cable Modem company. I pay them $100 a month, this includes cable tv, and I bought a SMC7004AWBR for $250. EXTREMELY good speed. Better than at work with dedicated t1 line.

Configuring a Linksys Cable Router to Use with the ISP.com Service

1. Verify that the cable modem has a working connection to the Internet by
connecting the cable modem directly to one computer as shown in your
installation documentation. If a connection can be established, access to
the Internet is working.

2. Once access to the Internet is working with one computer, you can setup
your network to allow multiple computers to access the high-speed data
service.

3. Turn off your computer, and cable modem.

4. Connect a network cable from your computer's Ethernet (or network) card
to port one on the back of the Linksys cable router.

5. Connect a network cable from the back of the cable modem to the WAN port
on the back of the router.

6. Connect the router's power cable into the power port of the router, and
plug the other end into a working electrical outlet.

7. The router will go through a self-test for a few seconds (an LED may
blink during this phase), and then the router will go into stand-by mode.

8. Power on the cable modem, and wait for the light to the cable system to
become solid again (this may be immediate or take a few seconds).

9. Press the Reset button on the back of the Linksys router, and hold it in
until the Diag LED illuminates red and then turns off (this can take up to
three seconds). Release the Reset button.

10. Turn on your computer.

11. Open your Internet Explorer web browser, click the Stop button, and type

http://192.168.2.1

into the address bar. Hit Enter.

12. Leave the username field empty, and type admin into the password box. It
is suggested that you change the default username and password for your
router for your security. Information on how to do can be found with your
router's documentation, or online at the manufacturer's web site.

13. Verify that next to WAN IP Address: the selection picked is Obtain an IP
Address Automatically.

14. After checking the above value, click Apply and then click Continue.

15. Choose the DHCP tab, and make sure that next to DHCP Server: the choice
selected is Enable. This will allow your computers connected to the router
to be given an IP address from the router. Make sure that the Number of DHCP
Users: chosen is the number of computers that will be connected to your
Linksys cable router.

16. Click Apply, and then click Continue.

17. Logout or close out of the Linksys cable router software.

18. Reset the power on the cable modem, and then restart your computer.

19. When the computer is fully restarted, you will need to register your
router so that it will work with your high-speed data service.

20. Open Internet Explorer and type: sas.ISP.com.com to register your
router. On this page you will be prompted with the options REPLACE and ADD.
Since you are replacing your computer with your router, click the REPLACE
button.

21. On the next screen you will be prompted to submit a name for your
router. There will be a default name already in place. In order to be able
to easily identify your devices, type in the word ROUTER. After changing the
name, click the SUBMIT button.

22. The next (and final) screen will prompt you to restart your computer to
complete the process. Since you have connected a router to the network,
restart the router and then restart all the computers connected to the
router. Upon restart, verify connection to the Internet for each computer.

If no Internet access is available, there is the possibility that the
Linksys cable router is not set up correctly. If this occurs (and you
verified in step #1 that Internet access works with the cable modem
connected directly to one computer), please contact your router manufacturer
for further assistance.

Well, ty for the help guys... I was trying to get DSL from work to home, using both of the DSL routers, without going through a DSLAM. Does anyone think it is possible?
