Okay, I have a DSL line from SBC, which has worked great for 3 years (the first installed in my area). I have an alcutel 1000 dsl modem plugged into a sonicwall firewall, which is in turn plugged into an 8-port hub. It all works fine and gets the 6mb down/384 up that I desire.
However, SBC recommended I replace the modem with a newer model. At their suggestion I purchased an Efficent Networks 060-5360-123 modem. When I connect it, the "enet" light goes on, indicating I have ethernet connectivity, but the "dsl" light never comes on and I do not get DSL connectivity. However, I plug the Alcutel back in and all works fine.
Any ideas as to what needs to be done to make this work?
Thanks, Richrad Lowe
