In the last two days I started having problems using explorer 5.5 win 98 se. My start page comes up fine, but I assume that is from the cache. When I click on one of my favorites, or type an address in manually it will go to a page, but none of the usual gif advertisements appear. when I try to link beyond this page I get nothing. It may be my ISP, or it may be explorer. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hold down Ctrl and hit F5 to force a reload to see whether it is cached or not. Do you get blanks or spaces with red crosses instead of the gif's? Is the show pictures ticked in Tools > Internet Options > Advanced > Multimedia

When you attempt to link, is it via text links or graphics, and what if any error messages do you get?

Thanks for the quick reponse to my problem. To answer your question, the show picture spot is checked, the square with the red x appears instead of gifs, and when I force refresh I get that long paragraph saying it is unable to find the page, and the server can't detect the connection etc.
thanks again for any help I receive
Chris

Is it a DNS error or a file not found error. DNS error is more likely to be ISP, file not found could be any number of things.
