I have an 18 port switch and dsl hooked into one of the ports. I have 11 computers in the other ports. Okay, I am trying to add another computer into the switch so that it will have access to dsl, but none of the other ports seem to allow me to connect. If I unhook one of the computers at the switch and hook the new computer into that port, it works fine. I was wondering if someone could give me any suggestions. I am also running a Novell Netware 5.0 server but I am positive that is not the problem.
Thanks

Are you sure it is not the cable? when you unhook an existing computer are you using the same cables both ways? you have tried other cables, yes?
I tried to remain child-like, all I acheived was childish.

I am sure it is not a cable because I am using my laptop to hook directly to the switch. I unhook one of the other ports and it works fine, but if I use an unused port, it does not. It seems as though I have five ports that will not connect to dsl. The other ports are fine because unhooked them one at a time and hooked my laptop into that port and it works. I have tried everything I know but nothing seems to work.

Are you using DHCP? If so, do you have a large enough address range to accomodate 12 or more PCs?

What type of switch do you have? Some have the option of taking ports administratively down for security purposes. I'd check the configs fo your switch.
