What a completely irresponsible service to block my server and not have a website running to unlist. My server is not an open relay or been used for spam so no idea why I am on it in the first place. Apparantly spam cop uses this list by default and we are getting loads of email rejections.

has either blocked me from accessing there site or its down.

Any ideas of how to remove myself from this list?

Thanks, I too googled it, the problem as listed in my post is I cannot access their site, therefore I cannot read the instructions and therefore I am posting here for help.

I have used 3 different internet connections and I cannot access their site. This is a huge problem as many emails are failing.

I would be interested if anyone else can access their site and possibly post the instructions if successful?

Hi,

i've got the same problem since sunday.
when i'm trying to send message from my SMTP server i'm receiving this error :
#########################################
said: 554 5.7.1 Service unavailable; Client host [195.101.183.XXX] blocked using list.dsbl.org; (in reply to RCPT TO command)>
#########################################

Unfortunately, the DSBL Website looks apparently down...

I would be interested if anyone have a solution...

thanks

This is the problem with people using these black lists. They often aren't "professionally" run and if this situation arises, you are at their mercy until they get back online and then you can follow the instructions.

Often times hackers/spammers target them to "punish" them for spoiling their fun. Don't know if this outage is a result of incompetence, system failure, hackers or not paying the light bill.

DSBL: Dead? Broken?
DSBL, the Distributed Sender Blackhole List, seems to have gone missing. The website, at appears not to be responding. Their mail server is offline, and any DNS mirrors still responding seem to be hosting an out-of-date copy of the blacklist's zone data.

Attempts to reach the blacklist maintainer are ongoing, but have been unsuccessful to date. (And are complicated by the fact that DSBL's mail server is offline.)

The list appears to have been in operation since at least May, 2002. Three zones were available: list.dsbl.org, multihop.dsbl.org, and unconfirmed.dsbl.org. At this time, I would recommend that you remove these lists from your mail server configuration, as queries may time out, and any responses returned will be out of date.

Watch this space; it will be updated as more information becomes available.

Thanks for the information that confirms my suspicions.

What a complete nightmare situation. I will just have to try and inform the companies using these lists but its many and getting hold of people who will actually understand the problem will be tricky.

The only solution I have would be change my routers ip address I have a range available but not sure how this would effect rev dns checks and also having mx record different sending ip address, I can have both changed but it would take a while to propergate.

Please post any more info here.

MX records don't propagate, and, IIRC, neither do rDNS entries. They have a TTL setting that would apply to senders who have sent to your recently, but that's it.

I'd run your available IP addresses through a RBL check and see if they are ok.

the website is up but the service not !! Some system use apparentely a DSBL cache where i'm still blacklisted :(

When the DSBL service will be up , we will have the possibility to send mails....

therefore , i have temporary actived a NAT to an other IP public address but it's not working to send with system that check the reverse DNS ..

I'm wating now.... i'm amazed how long it takes to repair this server...

Personally, unless IT management put a gun to my head, I wouldn't advise the use of those free services for blacklisting. This is a perfect example of a nightmare scenario where everyone loses because of their "small time" nature. Use a more reputable (not for free) spam filtering service or get yourself a black box type of spam appliance.

i'm agree , this is my case, i'm using a reputable spam firewall but it's not the case for the partners of my compagny....
it's hard to have to explain this to a end user...it's a real nightmare..
i don't know why i'm backlisted in list.dsbl.org because all tests are ok on

I removed all RBL's after our old software with whitelisted ip's still rejected as its feature was to save bandwidth and processed rbl's before whitelisted ips. I use Symantec Mail Security for SMTP now which isn't so bad but rubbish for fault finding. I might give Mail Marshall a trial.
