DS_E_communications problem! 1

Trying to connect my exchange 5.5 server from my workstation running win2K using exch administrator and I get a connection could not be made error with
ID no:DS_E_COMMUNICATIONS_PROBLEM

I have admin right on the exchange server and I can ping it fine.

I have the same problem on my mail relay server which is running on win2K server.

any ideas?
