Hi, we've got a DS4100 dual controller, and two hosts (AIX) connected to it. Cause each host's got 2 paths and we're not using fibre switches, the four FC ports of the DS are in use.
We would like to add another host (also AIX), so we're thinking to leave one of the hosts already attached with only one path, and also connect the new host with only one path.
We know we're going to lose path failover, but it's only temporary and we think we could face this risk.
Is there any problem doing that? Is AIX, or the controllers, going to complain about that?

I know it's not exactly and AIX question, but haven't seen a better forum.

Thanks in advance (and excuse my bad english).

If you take the risk, its okay. IBM recommends clearly the use of two ways, but it should work with one way also. Dont worry about the entries in errpt.

Thanks a lot, I supposed it was ok, but we wanted to be sure.
