Hi guys.

I have two DS30B expansion modules and I'm unable to make them work. They are not being recognized by the control unit nor listed in manager. My IPO is a 500V2 on release 9.1.5.

Any idea?

I've had this happen on two sites now with R9.1.5 although downgrading did not help so I don't think it is an issue with the release. The IP500V2 chasis was the issue in both cases. I defaulted the config, recreated the sd card, and tried different DS 30 V2 modules. none of that worked. I keep a new spare 500V2 so I then installed that and it did the trick. Had to get the other ones replaced.

How long id you wait?
The process is connect the DS30B to the IP500v2, reboot the IP500v2 and wait ten minutes or so.
It should upgrade automatically and the led will be red or orange on the module.
This really takes a while and sometimes you need to power down the IP500v2 instead of reboot it.

BAZINGA!

I'm not insane, my mother had me tested!

If you run the upgrade applet does it show the DS30s and their release number? I just installed a 406 version of the DS30 on 9.1 and it was no problem.

DS30B are different.... first one I had was a nightmare. I have two new ones to install today, looking forward to see what...

Both issues I had I rebooted as well as pulled power on the IP500V2, probably 10-15 times, waiting 10-15 minutes after each time and they were never recognized. System status showed nothing connected and upgrade manager didn't see it either. In both cases when I brought a new IP500V2 cabinet to swap the proper upgrade (yellow light) happened and then they were recognized. I brought both bad 500V2's back to our office and could not get anything to be recognized on the expansion ports of the 500V2's. The units themselves work fine, just not the expansion ports.

I had the same today @ 9.1.5 all I did was remove the card programming in manager including the associated extensions and users, reboot and the unit workes.

I tried defaulting the units I had with no luck. I would assume that should have the same result as deleting the cards. Once defaulted I plugged the expansion back in and rebooted. Nothing. Maybe I am bad luck though...

Was this resolved ?

I got 2 brand new DS30B modules and 2x 500v2 9.1.6 both of them just keep flashing green, never sync, tried 15 reboots, both boxes no luck. If I use DTE port I can see the module booting up, when I enter AT command instead of "OK" I'm getting "error" again same on both modules...

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Don't get alarmed if the LED begins blinking very quickly on the DS30B. I mistook this for a synchronization error (even TDM errors appeared via DTE port). Turns out that when the DS30B LED begins blinking very quickly it is actually upgrading the firmware. I learned this the hard way by corrupting a couple (rebooting when the LED is blinking quickly is a VERY BAD idea!!). When the LED begins blinking quickly, grab a bite to eat or go get coffee and give it 20 minutes or so!
