Im running IPO sys on 8.1..........the LED is red and the Nortel phones are malfunctioning, not heariing, not hanging up,not sending DTMF. Need any help.

tell us what have you done thus far to resolve the issue, not much to go on here

Flashing red means no firmware on the modular.
Have you rebooted the IPO?

Its a solid red light. I ave done several system reboot. I ave taken off all the DS(Nortel) station and put them back on one at a time. 5 to 10 min after the last DS connect the red light come on and the phones start to malfunction.

This is where a maintenance contract pays off, if you don't have one you have a large bill is coming :)

Try unplugging all the cable from front of the module(or defective unit) and then reboot the IPO. We had the similar issue where Network cable got plugged into the DS module and whole module went down.

thanks you all......it was the power supply, it was supplying the right volts, but not the right amps(less than 2.5 amps)..............so what was happening is after restoring 17 extension on the module it would start to malfunction.

By coincidence I've got the same on an old IPO 403 that I've powered up. Red light and all the DT ports are green/yellow.
Seems I used a power supply from an expansion model which was too a voltage and current rating.
Now all OK with right power supply so time to get the labeller out!
