When installing an ATM 1A-T3 module into a 3640 Router I get the following error:

MEMINIT: No iomem table entry for pa type 0x1AA in slot 3

-----------

Bootstrap Version: 11.1(20)AA2
IOS Version: C3640-IS-M v12.1(3)
Memory: 64Mb

The module is not seen via sho inter or sho contr

-----------

I've checked that the IOS is new enough (just barely - 12.1(2) is required) but I don't know if the BootStrap is too old.

Any ideas on why this would be happening?

thanks,
eric

If you are absolutely certain that you have the proper version (I would open a TAC case just to make sure), you may have to issue a command to tell the router what kind of card it is.

I have a standard E3/T3 card in my 3745 and I had to issue the following command in config mode:

card type t3

Not certain on the ATM though.

I have a 3640 and I'm also trying to install a E3/T3 card and it does not recognize it. Do you know the command I would use for the 3640, becuase I tried using that command and it didn't work.

thanks,

Frank704 - don't know on this one. We eventually installed it into different hardware (non cisco).

later,
eric
