I'm having some problems understanding how a full DS3 connection can be offered on a 10 megabit ethernet connection to the local network. Doesn't that imply that bandwidth going in/out of local network through the DS3 would be maxed out at 10 megabits never reaching the entire available 45 megabits per sec?

I would appreciate anyone providing or directing me to an explanation if my assumption is incorrect (which is probably the case)

Thanks

Assuming you are using a switch (not a hub) a 10 megabit LAN can handle more than 10 megabit.

However, if said network is connected to a DS3 through a 10 megabit then you are 100% correct, you will never use all of the DS3 bandwidth.
