Hi all,

This error is the last message we see on this machine and completely powers off for no reason.

It has OpenVMS 7.3-2, with an MSL5026 Tape Library hooked to a KZPCA adapter. Does anyone know what this is?

CaptNeo,

Interesting. This kind of problem is hard to troubleshoot remotely.

As a guess, I would be inclinded to suspect a power or groounding problem. The power possibility could include slightly overloading the circuit, enough to force an undervolt on the on the system, but not enough to actually overload the circuit breaker.

Theoretically, certain bus behaviors MIGHT be able to cause the situation. I am not sure if this is possible on a DS20, but I have seen very strange behaviors caused by malfunctioning peripherals.

When exactly is the problem occuring. Is it perhaps when the tape library is attempting to actually move a tape?

Robert "Bob" Gezelter,

It occurs during backup at night.
