just upgraded a ipov1 to v2 release 8.1.73 with 8 Ds30's. I had 7 of them sync up then lost them, after several reboots got the one to come up then another but not all at the same time. looking for a little help.

Are you sure they are not upgrading in the meantime?

BAZINGA!

I'm not insane, my mother had me tested!

I seen that all 8 of the DS-30's did up grade before I lost them and not been able to re sync them in 4 hours. Just so you know all 8 DS-30's are ip400 some are v1 and some are v2 if that makes any difference.

They can take up to 10 mins to upgrade themselves from the system, if you didn't allow that and kept interrupting them wih reboots you may well have corrupted their firmware :)

I seen them on SSA as being upgraded and present, but when trying to sync the last DS-30 the other DS-30 went out of sync, then the only one that didn't sync, did, and it upgraded and showed present. I made test calls on some of the phones after they upgraded. Now they all flash green.

Power all off including the system, power all modules up and once they start flashing green power up the system, that should sort it out, once done I would step them through the 3.2.999 loader if you can find it, I always do :)

thanks. I just found this on SSA "The new view failed to load. Network Error". This is after I a reboot. Do you know what that means?

Just means SSA has lost sight of the system briefly....or crashed, don't worry so much SSA has it's little niggles, but if it happens a lot then something may be up with the system/network :)

I would power down everything.
Then power up all modules one by one.
If they flash green then there are probably OK.
Is not then they are broken.
Then power up the IPO.
If the modules go green then they are OK. Is not then there is something wrong.

Thanks to all! I now have all 8 DS-30's sync up and working. I replaced the processor and 1 of the DS-30's that went bad during all this. Also found this morning that 5 of the expansion cables (the blue 1 meter) weren't shielded. Went I upgraded the processor I could see some of the cables were shielded and just ASSumed the rest were to, (didn't pay attention to details). Moved a couple of the expansion modules around to move the processor down in the stack and found the proper cables and finished the job. Have rebooted IP Office several times now and all is good. Again thanks to all for the prompt response. You saved my day.

Not only does the cable have to be shielded but it has to be short. I never use any other cable other than the one provided.

yes you're right, but if you don't have extra shielded cables in your truck and there is a computer store across the street and they have them in stock, then way not use buy them off the shelf? I have different thought, with the expansion 4 module and it's cables being 2 meter long, isn't they telling us that we can use a littler longer cable and we'll be just fine, like a 4 foot shielded cable? Since it's under 6 feet.
