I have the following:
500 v2 software 8.0.16 phone 8 card w/Pri on card
DS 30

I had the configuration up and running and the customer unpluged the system to rerun power cables. When he plugged it back in the DS30 was not seen by the IP Office. Replaced DS30 same problem. Replaced both units using the phone8 card and PRI card and SD card. Same thing happened, removed pri card and reinstalled phone8 card. System came up replaced PRI card system came up. Powered down system DS30 not seen by IPO. Moved to expansion 4 system came back up, powered down system DS30 not seen by IPO. Moved to expansion 2 system came back up.
Has this happened to anyone else?

Havnt heard of any issues with expansion modules on 8.0.x

What firmware is the DS30 running?
Did you check to see if the expansion module (ds30) is on the same firmware release as the ds30?

That happened to me before. I could get the DS30 to be seen on another IP500 unit, but no matter what we tried we couldnt get it to come back up on the original 500V1. Everytime you move it to another expansion port it permanently corrupts it and so on.

Now as a side thought, there is an upgrade license for over 32 users and its possible you need that license for it to be seen.

At the end of the day, my only option was to get an RMA from Avaya. I had to RMA the head End, Cards and DS30 modules. They said its a very rare occurence but it happens and they wouldnt say why.

Assuming you have the means to restore the config and licences(im sure you will have ),what happens if you roll the box back to R7.027 and restore the unit to default and reboot ??? , I have had to do this in the past and it has worked when expansion modules have failed, takes a bit of time so depends on youre customer really, on how much down time they are willing to put up with , but its got to be worth a try...keep us posted

I have found that the expansion modules are becoming increasingly troublesome with every release since R6, they do not synch as readily as they used to even when powering in the correct order, it can take 5 or 6 attempts where 1 used to be fine. They can become corrupt rather easily and I have even had only 1 side of a module work but the other not (the left bank of ports worked the right didn't....crazy). It is worse if you allow the system to auto-upgrade them but still happens if you manually step through 3.2.999. Some systems are fine but the odd one can be a bugger. I hope they get them back to the stable state they used to be :)

I think i had it once (not sure)
I must say that i always power up the modules up first and wait until the leds blink and then i power up the IPO.
Not sure if that makes any difference though :)

BAZINGA!

I'm not insane, my mother had me tested!
