dropshadow issue 1

having issues when adding a dropshadow to an Illst. graphic (outlined text) placed in ID CS2.
The drop shadow doesn't apply to the text outline but shows as a feathered black box behind the entire logo.

Help!

...you will have this problem if the illy file is saved as eps, save it as a native .ai format and then place in indesign, hope this helps...

...also make sure you have selected the imported graphic with the select tool (black arrow) and then apply the drop shadow. The white (direct) selection tool will yield a different result...
