Hello. We have Peoplesoft's payroll package. We would like to drop the 1400 empty application ("ps_.....) tables in it that support aspects of the application which we do not own. We get no encouragement from Peoplesoft on this issue. Does anyone out there have any experience / insight on this. Thanks.
Hi DBA,

Just dropping the tables is probably a bit risky and I'm not surprised that Peoplesoft are unsupportive.

What you could do is:

1) Create another tablespace with it's own data file - a real small one that is set to grow as it needs.

2) Put all these tables into the new TS.

The you could probably manage the active tables and other bits a little more easily.
Some Peoplesoft tables are used temporarily and then emptied - so it is risky to just delete empty ones.
