Dropped remote IP extensions

I have a BCM 50 in a corporate office. We are hanging IP extensions(i2004's)off of it at a brach office using a VPN tunnel. The IP phone lose connectivity at way too often Our diagnostics show that there is no drop of the VPN when this occurs. What is causing this?

Are you sure the VPN tunnel isn't rekeying when this happens?

Yes, the tunnel is set to rekey every 30 days, and this happens at least 10 times a week - a lot of mornings a couple of the extensions are blank and have to recycly power to connect.
