I seeem to experiencing a rather high 'dropped packets' value on a HACMP 2 node cluster set-up. Details as setout below:

# oslevel
4.3.3.0

# entstat -d ent0 (extract)
Transmit Statistics: Receive Statistics:
-------------------- -------------------
Packets: 1020805 Packets: 1759584
Bytes: 181723971 Bytes: 184125767
Interrupts: 881 Interrupts: 1750304
Transmit Errors: 0 Receive Errors: 0
Packets Dropped: 0 Packets Dropped: 2505

# no -a | grep pmtu
pmtu_default_age = 10
pmtu_rediscover_interval = 30
udp_pmtu_discover = 0
tcp_pmtu_discover = 0

Could somebody please point out what could be causing this high value in the received stats

Many thanks
