I have an Option 61c r 25.40 with mermax, mer mail.

when calls come into the auto attendant there given 5 options or stay on the line to be transferred to customer svc.
**** Problem is once or twice a day when pushing option 4 or 5 or staying on line to get to customer svc, the call is dropped and never gets out of the auto attendant.

we've replaced the vp4, vp8, dtipri, network card and utility card, and updated the switch with all the update patches and gave a fresh reboot to both switch and mail...

we are still experiencing dropped calls.. Any ideas?

Thanks!!

What type of DN does Option 4 and 5 transfer to? One thing I have seen with Meridian Mail is that Mail does not like to give a busy signal. It might be possible the DN's the menu is trying to send a call to is in use or ringing, therby providing a busy signal back to Mail instead of ringback.

If you had a console and it was defined as the default revert DN built in Mail, the call would go there (you can have any number built as this, but it is usually a console). If there is no default revert DN, the call could drop.

If the DN's for options 4 and 5 are SCR, look at how the DN is configured. If they are MCR's, you may need to add appearances, but this will not help in the ringing scenario. If the DN is an ACD..... well I am not sure what to do if it is an ACD, unless it has a interflow limit being met.

This is not built as an SCR.

The option goes to an ACD que..

?? Any others, thanks much!

Sorry, I have no other options to offer. I am of no use at this point.

You sure it stays with the autoattendant? If not, could you don't have a defective RAN unit? They can get funky on occassion.

replace the max with symposium.. way to many soft points to help with from here, the scr needs to be acd, acd can't be busy, the transfer to station coulf have a fault, you've replaced all the hardware in the loop (remines me of a tech we use to call shotgun) replace it all and step back. there seems to be about 20 places that could fail, but the fact that it happens os seldom, is something common during that failure, heavy traffic? the one ggod thing about this switch is that when she is broke, she stays broke.. your going to need to do some entc commands to every catch that drop. 1st thing, how do you know it happens? can you call the number enough times and force a dropped call. that would be to easy, if so catch the detail, when is it dropping.. like scott said, make sure your transfer to points have a busy (hunt) treatment.. that's why i don't use a single mcr set without hunt.. put 6 mcr lines on a phone, no hunt, call it while it is ringing, you'll get a busy.. acd, even with maxp 1 will rna,

the point being, my 3904 has 3 mcr keys, 1234, to avoid busy during ring, my published dn is 4321, a maxp 1 acd.. you can not get a busy dialing 4321..
