I am making a Drag and Drop interface.

I’m having some trouble with:

When an object is dragged to a target I not sure how to lock the object in position. Also make the object disappear into the target and change shape??

This is an animated example with no interaction of what I’m trying to achieve:

I someone could help on this matter, I’d be most grateful.

P.S. I posted a question yesterday about how to trigger a sound on release. This is the same interface.

hi Jim,

The example I gave you last night included actions to determine whether the object was dropped no the correct target. You would simply add to this a couple of actions to 'set' the _x and _y properties of the object to the centre of the desired target.

To make it disappear into the target, your dragged mc would simply have a motion tween preceeded and finished with stop actions, when it was dropped on the correct target you would simply tell it to 'play'.

I'll go rework the example I gave you last night and post it here in a tick.

just noticed I didn't change the shape, but I guess you can figure that out for yourself (ie: just tween it between the stop actions, just as the alpha)

ps: going to create a 2-object version to answer your other post dave@pinkzeppelin.com
