Drop Ship Question

Hi Everyone,

For those of you that have drop ship orders. Is there a particular way that you manage the quanity side of the transaction?

How do you capture the data? Custom reports? Or is there a setup option that we can turn on in setup to capture the data?

Any input would be great.

Would creating a Drop Ship Warehouse be the answer?

The Extended Solutions give you a bit more functionality but you can just use a drop ship warehouse on your own for the same purpose.

We opted out of the drop ship function and have created a separated DS warehouse, which has worked especially for tracking sales over the last 5 years.

Was it as simple as creating a Drop Ship Warehouse Code, placing the inventory items in the Drop Ship Warehouse?

How do you track the sales? PO's?

We created Warehouse "DS". When entering sales orders we used DS warehouse. Entered our purchase orders thru "DS". Occassional entry error - but easily traced.
