Drop shadow on full image. 2

I need to set a drop shadow on a full image. Like this;

I'm assuming you do it with 2 layers. Can anyone give me some pointers? All help will be greatly appreciated.

Layer-> Layer Style-> Drop Shadow than play with the controls.

Thankyou for the tip. I'm able to get to the drop shadow by creating a new layer by copy then I apply the drop shadow, looks great in the preview pane but I can't see the drop shadow in the image. What am I missing??

open original doc > select > all Edit > copy

Open new blank image with white background (make it large enough to hold original plus the drop shadow

edit > paste orig onto new image.

layer > layer style > pick drop shadow and play with controls

save > print or whatever.

you should be able to see pic plus drop shadow.

I'm on version 7.0

also don't drop the opacity so low thar the shadow disappears.
