Drop Down List Problem

I created a drop down list and put the selections in the "Collections" field of the properties. When I debug and select the drop list, everything is blank, but I can still select and when I do it shows up after I made the selection. I can’t figure out what I'm doing wrong. Any help would be appreciated.

Wild guess, when an item is not selected, its fore color is equal to its back color.
