I have been running my Netfinity 5K with an Adaptek 2100 RAID card and some external drives, with good results. Recently I bought some new drives, put them in the internal hot-swap and connected the bay SCSI cable to the Adaptek card. To my disappointment, in this configuration, the drives are running at 40Mbytes/sec transfer rate, as opposed to 80 when attached externally.

Could be the drives, I suppose. I think not, though. They are Seagate ST336706LC: up to 160 and LVD.

Anyone got a clue about why the drives are running so slowly?

Thanks
