Drivers for a Dell Inspiron 1100 laptop

Hello

I have an Inspiron 1100 laptop running Win XP Pro. My system crashed and I had to reinstall the system software. I had the recovery disk for the operating system but there were no drivers on this disk nor was there a second disk with the drivers.
I have searched at driverguide.com and on the dell website but have not found the driver for my DVD CDRW drive.
Any suggestions on where to find this driver?

This might sound silly to some, but, did you try contacting Dell or searching their site for driver support?

I would go to:

https://support.dell.com/register.aspx

And enter the service tag on your particular laptop and it should have a record of all components in your system and set you up with all the drivers and such for your make and model.
