What happens when a client connects to an XPe server and the printer driver on the client is newer then the one on the server? Does the client just install its driver? Is that driver just for that client or is the server now updated to the latest one and will be for everyone else as they log in?

Hi,

which version of Citrix are you using?

We are running on W2k with XPe. The clients are all win XP users.

Hi,

usually the it is just checked if a driver with the same name exists.

In newer versions of Citrix PS there is a setting to prevent printer drivers to be installed on the server.
I am not quite sure but think that on XP it could be set with a registry key.
But there are differences between the FRs.

But if there will be a newer driver installed (manually)it is used for all sessions /users.

Consider that client network printers behave different from lokal attached client printers.

The issue that we are having which prompted this is sometimes our clients go in and everything is fine and other times they go in and nothing is autocreated. We have checked and verified setting after setting and everything checks out. The only thing that we are trying to determine is if the clients are placing drivers onto the server then when another user logs in and they need that driver if there is some sort of version conflict going on.
