What is the difference between the security settings for a volume in Disk Management 2008R2 and the security settings tab when the volume is mounted in a folder... ie

Disk 1 Volume 0 of 5000MB is mounted in empty folder C:\StudentHome

If I, from within Disk Management, obtain the security settings for the volume, it lists a completely different set of permissions than when I right click the volume mounted in the folder and view the security settings from the property selection.

In addition, is there a way to set the default permissions of newly formatted volumes within Disk Management?

How are they different? I just checked a couple of systems here and they are identical, though I'm not using mount points on the volume.
