Drive missing in XP

Hi,I have a dual boot Win98Se and WinXp with two drives, I've installed partitioned and formatted a new Maxtor 30gb drive with Fdisk and it shows up and works fine in Win98 but is not recognised in XP Its nowhere to be seen!! Any ideas??

Have you looked in disk management (run diskmgmt.msc)? Possible the partition is recognised but hasn't been assigned a drive letter.

Thanks but the drive does not appear anywhere in disk management so it does not appear to be recognized at all.
