Hi all
I have a SBS 2000 server that hung yesterday morning, after restarting the
server the mirrors started to resynchronize as they should.
Near the end of the day The exchange service shut itself down. Upon
investigating the cause, the C drive was showing that it only had 2 MB free.
After checking the drive properties, by highlighting all the files on the c
drive and right clicking on them to show the properties, it showed me a
difference
between what the drive said how much data was on the server and what
actually the data size on the server is.
One worrying factor with regards to this is that the "size" of the data on
this report is larger than the "Size on disk" amount by quite a large
amount.
I then restarted the server where once again the drive showed about 500MB
free, after all the services started the drive space started to decrease at
such a rate that the drive once again was full after only 2 minutes.
I then, after a lot of testing found that if I started the server without
having the SMTP service start automatically, this "eating" up of the free
space does not happen.
Has anyone had a similar problem or has heard of how to fix this?
any help would be appreciated.
Thanks
Dayne Dillon
