Ok this is kind of hard to explain, but I will do my best. We have some win2000 servers as well as novell servers. Our users' pc's have both the microsoft cliene and the novell clien on them. The users log in locally to their pc's, not to a domain.

We are having some issues with users mapping windows shares. When a user tries to map a drive (by right-clicking network places-->map network drive, we enter the share in the normal format \\server\share and then click "Connect using a different user name". We then type in the windows 2000 user info to connect to the windows share using the domain account.

This works fine, till the user reboots his pc. When he reboots, he cannot connect to the network drive, and his windows account has been locked out.

Any ideas?

What is probably happening is that the client is trying to map that drive to the server again but rather than using the proper credentials it's using the local account that the user is logged onto the client with.

Yeah i think that is what's happening - any way to force it to use the correct credentials?
