I've experienced this issue several times. Here's what happens: Let's say I'm trying to make a persistent mapping of \\fileserver01\folder1\folder2 to drive letter M. I
R-click on the Novell system tray icon and select "map network drive"....enter the path, the drive letter, and check the "always map" box. Afterwards I go to "My Computer" and browse drive M: and find that it has mapped to \\fileserver01\folder1. For some reason it won't map the full path I indicate. The user does have rights to this path as I can browse to the referenced folder and view/open all files. Any idea what might cause this issue? Thx in advance!

Try mapping it from a DOS prompt using the MAP command. Syntax would be:

MAP ROOT M:=SERVERNAME\VOLUME:DIRECTORY

-----------------------------------------------------
"It's true, its damn true!"
-----------------------------------------------------

I beleive you also need to check the "Make folder appear as the top most level" box. Be aware that this causes problems with OfficeXP when saving files. I'm not sure about earlier versions.

For OfficeXP saves to work, stick with the method you are now using.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for the suggestions guys...I'll give them a try and see how they work out...

Definately the problem is you need to map the folder as the ROOT or top most level. But the other guy is right there are some funny issues doing it this way and the best solution would be to use the MAP ROOT option in a login script.
