Drive keeps spitting out cleaning tape...

I have an HP Storageworks DAT72 and I just got a new cleaning cartridge (HP C5709A). It was ordered by our vendor and I checked hp's website to make sure that it is the correct one. I know this probably isnt software related by why would the drive spit out the cleaning tape 10 seconds after inserting it?

Im pretty sure thats about all it needs to clean the drive.

That is what its suppose to do. DAT drives you just place the cleaning tape in and it will detect it as a cleaning tape and then about 20 seconds later it will eject.
