Drive Device Number

Does anyone know of how one can get the device number of a drive?

Depends what you mean exactly by 'device number'?

If you just mean the device minor number you can obtain it by doing an ls -l on the device entry in /dev/dsk and looking at the 6th field.

pfiles process id comes back with a dev: number,number.

How do I ascertain what that device number is?

Think I have it figured out, If I convert the major number to hex and look in the mount command for the device.
