This one is kicking my rear end.

Setup: Four computers. One Win98, one WinXP (main PC), two Win2000 computers. Linksys switch.

Problem: The laptop Win2000 cannot access C: drive on Win XP machine. It can access every other drive on every other machine including D: hard drive and the CD roms on the XP machine. Every other computer can access the XP C: drive with no problem. Only the laptop gets "Access is denied" for that one drive only. I can see the drive and the directory structure in Windows Explorer. But if I try to double click anything on that one drive "Access is denied." There are no passwords and no restrictions in the whole network.

Please help.

If you can see the folder contents but not make any cahnges to it, the only thing it could be is file permissions on your XP machine. I would look at the permissions set on the ROOT of the C: on the XP machine that you are trying to gain access to. Make sure that the account you are using on the laptop in some way has permissions to the C: on your target drive. Either direct or through a group membership.
